The rules are finally set in stone. I have expanded them to include strung, non-resin dolls like UFDoll. These plastic newcomers are swarming the market, and while they aren't traditional resin, I’ll allow the 1/3 and 1/4 sizes. They are a great resource for collectors who want quality without a soul-crushing price tag, so they have earned their place in the database.

However, the tiny blind box dolls are a total can of worms. I might need to find some brave souls to moderate that specific disaster. I can already see people trying to upload every single character from a series as a unique entry, even though the bodies are identical clones with different paint and plastic hair.

To be clear: this site is not a museum for mass-produced hair molds and outfits. I will allow a photo or two of the hair variations and a group shot, but they will all live together in one single listing for that body type. We have to draw the line somewhere before the "blind box" chaos buries us all.

I briefly considered creating a whole cast of characters for each section. Doffee can handle the doll/company side, then someone else for the hybrid section, and yet another poor soul for the resin comparison corner. Because clearly, even a fictional mascot has limits and shouldn’t be forced to carry this entire project on his tiny, overworked back.

This site desperately needs a facelift. And now that I’m paying actual cash money for Baserow, I finally get to use CSS and JavaScript to make it look PRETTEH.

HOWEVER. Here’s the plot twist.

Baserow is still held together with digital duct tape and vibes. It loads at the speed of a philosophical snail. So even if I craft a stunning CSS masterpiece, visitors get to enjoy 15 seconds of raw, unstyled WYSIWYG chaos before anything decent shows up. Really makes you question why you bothered polishing the silverware in a burning house.

JavaScript isn’t any better. I set up a nice little feature where all the images are uniform, clickable, and open into a full-size modal like a civilized website. Except… it doesn’t work on the first load. Of course it doesn’t. You have to load the page, wait, then refresh it like you’re performing some ancient ritual just to make the images clickable.

In summary: I can make it pretty… eventually… assuming the site decides to cooperate and not emotionally sabotage me first.

Baserow has struck again, like a glitchy overlord with a personal vendetta. They updated their backend and instantly turned all my careful streamlining into decorative nonsense. Now I get to go through and remove every trailing \\ in my links and re-separate all my add and edit pages… meaning yes, I now need a completely separate page for each one. Fantastic.

What really adds flavor to the suffering is that this was their advice. “Use one form,” they said. “It’ll be cleaner,” they said. And now that their backend has shape-shifted into something new, that approach works about as well as a chocolate teapot. So here I am, undoing everything I originally did based on their guidance.

Love that for me. Truly.
